The ride from Calais to the Czech Republic
I read on a forum that if the objective was to see Prague the leave the bike at home and get a chest flight! I think I agree. I love riding and love small roads but this trip was quite an ordeal.
The France bit was good to start but the mileage I set myself meant I had to press on and use bigger roads - then the weather closed in.
After a great start in France on Monday things went pear shaped because of the weather - Luxembourg was well Luxembourg but Germany was a real surprise having only ridden the Black Forest a number of times in the past I was not prepared for the drudgery of manic roads, nose to tail lorries, dull scenery which was topped off with torrential rain!
So after a nights sleep I thought all would be well today - wrong Germany emptied it's clouds on me BUT the Czech Republic saw me coming switched off the cloud bursts and rolled out the sun - what a difference in countries - I like the CZECH Rep already!
Got to Prague at about 2.30pm and had a faultless journey through the city to the hotel. Prague so far is living up to my expectations - even the hotel gave me free underground parking because it's a bike! Yay
I didn't take many photos but here are a few - those who know me will know I enjoy World Cusine so I managed a McDonalds in 4 countries! It's for the wifi of course!

Near the Ferry
Today's Motorway ride was better than I expected - since rebuilding the Africa Twin it seems to be repaying me with torque and smoothness. The weather has been good and no mishaps in the way.
Now for a KFC and a film - all on the hotel complex - I choose the best places ha ha!
