A little soap

Ok so it goes something like this - there I was on a French Campsite so toddled off to the shower block - token in hand, towel (quick dry compact camping model) over shoulder while swinging my washbag - it was a good day and I needed a hot shower.

The shower block is communal but the cubicles are good - first problem all occupied - no problem I thought I will wait quietly - first mistake - I was too quiet! Out of cubicle one comes a very attractive lady clutching a towel that barely covers her OMG shock alarm - "Pardon Monsieur!" and the door slams. But hey there seems to be more than her in there. Next thing out she pops wearing just a tee shirt which demonstrates only too well why wet tee shirt competitions are so popular!!! No sooner is she out when she scuttles down to cubicle 4 which has now mysterious become vacant - followed by what must obviously be her young son completely naked.

What was I to do?- I asked if they had finished in my best French but the women had disappeared into the cubicle and the young boy just stood there looking! Naked! Aarrghh no - I may have been coming over as some kind of pervert! Into the vacant cubicle l went - phew! Stripped off and couldn't get my token into the slot - what? no! this can't be happening - that's why the woman ran out - it is faulty! However a bit of brute force and in the token went. Hot steaming water poured out if the shower head. I got under - bliss. I opened my soap holder and took out my Marseilles Soap - 70% Olive Oil - the only soap I use - specially imported - have used it for years. Just as I was about to soap myself down, wow, there goes my soap onto the floor, under the cubicle - kids laughter follows then more then the woman starts speaking to the other cubicles - this was family shower time and now I was the centre if amusement. A plea of can I have my soap back please met with silence!

Head and Shoulders shampoo is a poor substitute but did the job. I left the shower dressed but with the water still running. Opening the door I was met by the woman's husband who didn't seem to understand why I was in cubicle 1? The one his wife went into first!!!

Sharp exit - act British and my soap has been repatriated. Funny things happen on campsites.

Loire

I spent a lot of time riding on small twisty pretty roads and not enough time taking photos but here are some.

Tarn to the Dordogne

Time to make my way North so the first stop is around the Dordogne - I wish I had now camped here and spent more time - next time perhaps!

Tarn Gorges

Camping has meant that I have not had good wifi and so been a bit lazy in sending up posts. Here are some photos to be getting on with.

Millau 1st and 2nd August

Finally arrived at Millau with cooking temperatures but an easy place to find a campsite so all is well.

I am going to be lazy and just post photos - I am blogging this from a McD on 2nd August after riding over the Viaduct and walking up to the viewpoint.
